PLANNING A TRIP TO PRAGUE, VIENNA, AND BUDAPEST ?

Visa: This tour covers Hungary, Slovakia, Austria, and the Czech Republic (with an extension to Germany). U.S. and Canadian citizens must possess a valid passport with an expiration date at least six months beyond the date of reentry into these countries. It is recommended to have at least one blank passport page for entry stamps.

Starting in 2025, U.S. and Canadian passport holders are required to obtain an ETIAS travel authorization to enter many European countries. This includes over 30 countries previously accessible without a visa. ETIAS authorization is a mandatory requirement, even for travelers who have visited these countries before without a visa. Travelers visiting multiple countries covered by this requirement only need to complete the ETIAS form once. All travelers are responsible for obtaining their own ETIAS travel authorization before departure. For further information, please refer to our Help Center.

For non-U.S. or Canadian citizens, specific entry requirements should be confirmed with the consulate of each country you intend to visit.

Currency: In Hungary, you will use the Hungarian forint, while in Slovakia, Austria (and Germany on the tour extension), the currency is the euro. The Czech koruna is used in the Czech Republic.

Generally, better exchange rates can be found abroad, although it's advisable to order some currency from your local bank for immediate use upon arrival.

We highly recommend bringing debit/bank cards and credit cards, which can be used to withdraw cash at local banks as needed. Most debit/credit cards are compatible with international ATM networks like Cirrus and Plus, but it's important to check with your home bank regarding any withdrawal fees.

Notify your bank and credit card company about your travel plans to avoid them flagging your international transactions as suspicious.

International banks and businesses typically accept debit and credit cards equipped with EMV chip technology. If you don't already have at least one chip-enabled card, we strongly advise requesting one from your bank before your tour begins.

Cuisine: Hungary takes pride in goulash as its national dish, alongside a reputation for superb salamis, cheeses, nut-filled pancakes, freshwater fish, and preserved fruits.

Austria is renowned for its delectable Wiener schnitzel and exquisite wild trout, carp, and crayfish. Leave space for dessert, especially their renowned fruit and nut strudels and elegant chocolate cakes like the globally famous Sachertorte.

Czech cuisine is robust, offering hearty servings of veal, beef, and potato dishes. The country is also celebrated for producing some of the world's finest beers, including the original Budweiser and Pilsner varieties.

Tipping: At the end of your tour, it is customary to provide gratuities to your Tour Director and driver in either local currency or USD. Please consider the prevailing exchange rates.

We suggest tipping approximately $10 to $12 USD per person per day for your Tour Director and about $3 USD per person per day for your driver. If you have local guides during your tour, we also recommend tipping around $2 USD per person.

Please note that gratuities must be paid in cash.

Wifi: Most hotels offer Wi-Fi, though additional charges may apply. Wi-Fi is not available on the motor coaches. For details on roaming charges, please consult your mobile service provider.

Food and Water: France is known for its delicious cuisine and wide variety of food options. French cuisine is diverse and often involves fresh, high-quality ingredients, such as meats, seafood, vegetables, and cheeses. Some popular French dishes include croissants, escargots (snails), coq au vin (chicken cooked in red wine), and quiche Lorraine.

When it comes to drinking water, tap water in France is generally safe to drink. However, some people may prefer to drink bottled water for taste or personal preference. Bottled water is widely available in France and can be found at grocery stores, convenience stores, and restaurants.

Electricity and Airconditioning : All destinations visited during this tour operate on the European standard of 220-240 volts, using plugs Types C, E, or F with two small, round pins.

We recommend packing a universal adapter and, if you intend to use personal appliances like hairdryers that do not have built-in converters, a voltage converter.

Air conditioning in European hotels is typically not as powerful or cool as what you may be accustomed to in the U.S. or Canada. When available, it is generally regulated seasonally and controlled centrally by the hotel.

While hotels may provide amenities such as hairdryers, irons, and other small appliances, availability cannot be guaranteed.
