This lively and diverse city offers a balanced mix of urban and suburban living, with plenty of exciting day and nighttime attractions, outdoor activities, and opportunities to unwind.

Upon your arrival at the airport, our team will be ready to transport you to your hotel. Please note that the usual check-in time is 3:00 PM, so you can take some time to settle in and rest. Spend your evening relaxing and getting ready for the exciting sightseeing adventures that await you tomorrow.

Overnight in Cape Town

Your Cape Town adventure starts with a pickup from your hotel by your guide who will accompany you throughout the day. You will head straight to the ferry dock to catch a boat to Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 27 years during the Apartheid era. As you travel to Robben Island, you'll be amazed by the stunning views of Cape Town and Table Mountain. Robben Island is one of the most well-known prisons in the world, and it is here that Mr. Nelson Mandela spent 18 years of his imprisonment. During the tour of the island, you'll visit his cell, which remains unchanged since he was incarcerated, and the tour will be led by former political prisoners who provide a unique understanding of the prison's history and the prisoners' plight.

After returning to the Victoria and Alfred waterfront, your tour guide will take you on a historical tour of Cape Town, where you'll see various iconic landmarks such as the Parliament buildings, Company's Garden, Slave Auction Tree, Apartheid Museum in District Six, Slave Museum, and the Castle, which is South Africa's oldest building, constructed between 1666 and 1679.

Your last stop for the day is Table Mountain, the country's most photographed landmark and a symbol of Cape Town. Take the cable car to the top for views of the city and the ocean. The upper cable station has a restaurant, a curio shop, and some footpaths to explore. If the weather permits, you'll have an opportunity to take in the breathtaking panoramic views of Cape Town from every angle.

After the Table Mountain tour, you're free to explore the vibrant V&A Waterfront, where you can relax at a café, enjoy a glass of South Africa's famous wine, or browse through the local art and craft shops.

Travel along the Atlantic coast and admire the stunning scenery as you pass through Bantry Bay, Clifton, Camps Bay, Llandudno, and Chapman's Peak. The park is located at the very tip of the peninsula, with the Indian and Atlantic Oceans on either side. Your guide will provide an overview of the reserve upon your arrival, and you'll take the funicular to the Cape Point Lighthouse. Johannesburg is a vast city where opposites collide to create an interesting city of contradictions and extraordinary charm. Situated within the province of Gauteng, Johannesburg is home to the world's largest urban forest of approximately 10 million trees. The city is the economic powerhouse of South Africa, and as a result, has some of the most high-end shops and restaurants in the country. This urban sophistication stands in stark contrast with the many local street vendors and informal African spaza shops. The city has a surprisingly diverse range of activities on offer: popular stops include the sobering Apartheid Museum, Constitution Hill, Nelson Mandela Square, and Sandton City. Townships tours are recommended, as is the fast-growing creative hub of the city, the Maboneng Precinct (meaning 'place of light'), is an inspiring place for urban artists and boasts great restaurants and entertainment, art galleries, and a neighborhood celebrating art. Whether in the city for business or pleasure, there is plenty to see and do while there

Here, you'll visit the Nelson Mandela House, where the former president lived with his family from 1946 to 1962. You'll also visit the Hector Pieterson Museum and Memorial, which honors the student who was killed during the Soweto uprising in 1976.

After visiting Soweto, you'll head to the Apartheid Museum, where you'll learn about the history of apartheid in South Africa and its impact on the country. The museum features a range of exhibits, including photographs, artifacts, and videos, providing a comprehensive overview of this dark period in South Africa's history.

The museum also includes a special exhibit on Nelson Mandela, which showcases his life and his role in the fight against apartheid. You'll be able to see some of Mandela's personal items, including his prison cell on Robben Island, where he spent 18 of his 27 years in captivity.

After exploring the museum, you'll return back to the hotel. The rest of the day is free for leisure.

However, it is recommended to check with the locals or hotel staff about the quality of tap water in smaller towns or rural areas. My husband and I recently went on the South Africa tour, and it exceeded our expectations. The safari at Kruger National Park was definitely a highlight, but we also enjoyed the scenic drive along the Panorama Route and the cultural experiences in Soweto and Johannesburg. The group size was small, which made for a more intimate experience. The tour was well-organized and ran smoothly. Highly recommend!
