Upon landing at Suvarnabhumi Airport, you’ll feel Bangkok’s vibrant energy. A private transfer takes you to your hotel in the Sukhumvit or Riverside area, chosen for convenience and comfort. The afternoon is yours to settle in, perhaps relaxing by the hotel pool or enjoying a light meal at a nearby café with dishes like pad thai. In the evening, visit a rooftop bar like Vertigo at Banyan Tree for a city view and a welcome drink, easing you into Thailand’s rhythm. Rest early to adjust to the time difference.
Overnight in Bangkok

After breakfast at the hotel, embark on a guided morning tour of Bangkok’s iconic landmarks. Explore the Grand Palace, a stunning complex of ornate halls, and admire the Emerald Buddha at Wat Phra Kaew. Nearby, Wat Pho captivates with its giant Reclining Buddha and intricate mosaics. From Tha Tien pier, board a private long-tail boat for a peaceful cruise along the Chao Phraya River and Thonburi’s canals, observing stilted homes and local life. Return to the hotel for lunch and downtime. In the evening, visit Asiatique the Riverfront for dinner at a riverside restaurant and a stroll through its night market, perfect for souvenirs. This day captures Bangkok’s cultural heart at a leisurely pace.

Overnight in Bangkok

Start with breakfast at the hotel, then head to Chatuchak Weekend Market (or Damnoen Saduak Floating Market if not a weekend) for a guided morning tour. Wander through vibrant stalls offering silk scarves and spicy som tam, immersing in the city’s lively commerce. Savor lunch at a market eatery, perhaps with mango sticky rice for dessert. In the afternoon, visit Jim Thompson House, a serene teak mansion showcasing Thai art and the silk magnate’s legacy. The evening features a cultural dinner show at Siam Niramit, where traditional Thai dance pairs with flavorful cuisine, a fitting farewell to Bangkok. Return to your hotel for a restful night.

Planning a trip to Thailand?

Visa requirements:  In order to enter these countries, U.S. and Canadian citizens need a valid passport with an expiration date extending at least six months beyond the date of reentry.

  • We recommend having at least two blank passport pages for entry stamps.
  • There is no visa required for U.S. or Canadian citizens to enter the United Arab Emirates.
  • If you are not a U.S. or Canadian citizen, you must contact each country’s consulate for your specific entry requirements.

Culture and customs: Avoid public displays of affection, particularly in rural areas. The head is considered the most sacred part of the body in Thai culture, so avoid touching people's heads.

Weather: Thailand has a tropical climate with distinct wet and dry seasons. Check the weather forecast for the region you'll be visiting to pack appropriate clothing.

Clothing: We suggest selecting lightweight and comfortable attire that can be easily layered to accommodate changing temperatures. A light jacket or rain gear might also come in handy. For exploring, a durable pair of walking shoes or sneakers is advisable. Keep in mind that you'll need to take off your shoes when visiting Buddhist religious sites. Outdoor excursions call for waterproof shoes or sandals, along with a swimsuit, sunscreen, and insect repellent. Binoculars can enhance your experience by providing a closer view of local wildlife and scenery. Consider packing slightly more formal clothing if you're planning to dine at upscale restaurants or attend special performances. Remember that it's respectful to avoid wearing attire that exposes bare legs and shoulders when visiting temples or religious sites, as entry could be declined based on this criterion.

Local laws: Respect local laws and regulations. Possession and use of drugs, even in small amounts, can lead to severe penalties.

Language: The official language is Thai. While English is spoken in tourist areas, learning a few basic Thai phrases can enhance your interactions with locals.

Currency: The currency in Thailand is the Thai Baht (THB). It's recommended to carry some local currency for small purchases, but credit and debit cards are widely accepted in urban areas.

Transportation: Thailand has a variety of transportation options, including tuk-tuks, taxis, buses, and trains. In urban areas, traffic can be congested, so plan your transportation accordingly.

Electricity: The standard voltage is 220V, and the outlets are usually two-pronged round or flat sockets. Consider bringing a universal adapter if needed

Time zone: Thailand is typically in the Indochina Time Zone (ICT), which is UTC+7.

Cuisine: Thai food is renowned for its flavors and variety. Embrace the opportunity to try local dishes, but be cautious with street food to avoid potential stomach issues. Drinking bottled water is advisable.

Safety: Thailand is generally considered safe for travelers, but exercise caution in crowded areas and be aware of common scams. Keep your belongings secure and be mindful of your surroundings.

REVIEW

I can’t say enough about this Thailand itinerary! From the peaceful long-tail boat ride in Bangkok to feeding elephants at the sanctuary in Chiang Mai, everything was perfectly organized. The guides were knowledgeable and friendly, and every hotel had its own charm. Ending the trip with sunset views in Phuket was magical. Highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting culture, nature, and relaxation in one trip!

This trip exceeded my expectations. I loved the balance between guided tours and free time — exploring the temples in Bangkok, enjoying khao soi in Chiang Mai, and relaxing on the beaches of Phuket felt effortless. The transfers and flights were smooth, and the local food experiences were a real highlight. It’s the perfect introduction to Thailand for first-timers.

Our adventure through Thailand was incredible! The itinerary flowed beautifully — Bangkok’s history, Chiang Mai’s culture, and Phuket’s beaches all felt unique but connected. The elephant sanctuary visit was deeply moving, and the Phi Phi Islands day trip was pure paradise. We’ve traveled a lot, but this was one of the most well-planned tours we’ve joined. Worth every penny
