Itinerary

Prepare yourself! You are leaving today for Rome to start your unbelievable Italian Gems journey.

Upon arrival in Rome, claim your bags and proceed toward the arrival hall.  Our representative will meet you and assist you with your transfer to the hotel. (Standard check-in time is 3:00 pm). Check-in at the hotel and catch up on your rest. 

This evening all participants will gather for dinner in the hotel restaurant where you will become acquainted with your fellow travelers, the coming days can be discussed at leisure with your Tour Guide. 

Overnight in Rome

Enjoy your breakfast this morning. Meet your guide and proceed to explore the Colosseum - Palatine Hill with Baroque Rome. This tour will journey through the ancient and Baroque history of Rome. 

Begin with visiting the Colosseum, one of the most iconic landmarks of Rome. The Colosseum is an ancient amphitheater that was used for gladiatorial contests and public spectacles. You will learn about the history of the Colosseum, its construction, and the events that took place here.

Next, you will visit Palatine Hill, which is one of the seven hills of Rome and is considered to be the birthplace of the city. You will explore the ruins of the imperial palaces and hear stories about the emperors who lived here, including Augustus and Tiberius. 

After Palatine Hill, the tour will take you to the heart of Baroque Rome. You will visit some of the most beautiful and iconic Baroque monuments in the city, including the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, and the Piazza Navona. Your guide will provide you with insights into the art, architecture, and history of these monuments. 

Finally, the tour will end at the Pantheon, which is one of the best-preserved ancient Roman buildings in the city. Your guide will tell you about the history and architecture of the Pantheon and its significance in Roman history. 

The rest of the day is free for leisure. 

Overnight in Rome

After enjoying your breakfast, you have the day to yourself. You might consider taking a stroll through Rome's Historic Center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that boasts several famous landmarks, such as the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, and the Spanish Steps. Alternatively, you could browse the local markets, where you can find a variety of goods ranging from food to souvenirs. The Campo de' Fiori market or the Porta Portese market are excellent places to immerse yourself in the local culture.

As Rome is renowned for its cuisine, be sure to sample some traditional Roman dishes from the numerous restaurants and street vendors available. Some popular options include carbonara, cacio e pepe, and pizza bianca.

After breakfast, check out and drive down the Autostrada del Sole (Highway of the Sun). Upon arrival in the lost city of Pompeii, meet your personal archaeologist who will guide you through the remarkably well-preserved remains of this once-thriving ancient metropolis. Led by your professional guide, explore the well-preserved structures and evidence of daily life inside this ancient city. Following your exploration of Pompeii, embark on a scenic drive down the serene winding roads of the Italian coast en route to Sorrento. Upon arrival in Sorrento check-in at the hotel. Spend time exploring the center of this coastal gem along the Gulf of Naples.

Overnight in Sorrento Coast

After breakfast, enjoy a guided walking tour through the coastal city of Sorrento, a cosmopolitan place full of stylish and typical Italian artisan shops selling local products and wares. The delightful climate attracted Roman aristocrats in ancient times, who came to Sorrento and built magnificent villas. Today Sorrento is a rich and stylish city. Next, take part in two of our Cultural Discovery Series – Visit Alessandro Fiorentiono Collection and learn about wood craftsmanship. Then, learn about the tradition and secrets behind “Limoncello” production. Following the demonstration, enjoy a tasting of this famous Italian liqueur. The afternoon is free to relax and enjoy the Italian way.

Overnight in Sorrento

Enjoy your breakfast in the morning.  Enjoy the Amalfi Coast drive which is arguably the world's most beautiful and thrilling sightseeing road. Your guide, along the journey, will give you general information including how to spend your free time for each of the stops programmed: Positano is a true paradise, developed vertically within a tangled overlay of streets, alleys, and shops that expose the colorful Positano fashions well-known all around the world. In the town center is the Parish Church of Santa Maria Assunta which shows up with its large dome, tiled in majolica, and sheltering some precious works like polychrome marble altars. It’s nice to get lost in Positano. To fully embrace the beauty of the town it is probably better to walk without a precise destination. You will be able to enjoy the streets, the little shops, the restaurants, the monuments, the churches, and the beaches. Amalfi, a picturesque interlacing of alleys and stairways overlooks the sea with all its extraordinary colors reflecting the enchanting landscape of Amalfi, the town whose name blesses the entire coast.

Dominated by the majestic Cathedral dedicated to Sant'Andrea (St. Andrew), Amalfi proffers innumerable testimonies of its glorious past as the Maritime Republic. Enjoy some free time in Amalfi. You can visit the medieval Cathedral of St. Andrew or simply relax on the beach. Afterward, relax on your return journey to Sorrento.

Overnight in Sorrento Coast

Today is free to explore places on your own in order to get a true sense of where you are. Take time to enjoy a coffee at a cafe or walk along the main streets of the town. The best way to see the town is to walk, where undoubtedly you’ll unearth wonderful finds, whether it’s the intoxicating aroma of a bakery or handmade leather goods, beautiful music boxes, or fine lace. Discover a quaint park with children chasing each other or have a glass of wine while sitting by the sea. Another great thing to do is to head over to Capri for the day. Visit the Blue Grotto, sit in a cafe on the Piazzetta, Capri’s famous square, and make sure to have lunch looking out on the Faraglioni. Book a table at Il Geranio, Villa Verde, or Da Luigi and you won’t be disappointed.
