Itinerary

Prepare yourself! You are leaving today for Rome to start your unbelievable Italian Gems journey.

Upon arrival in Rome, claim your bags and proceed toward the arrival hall.  Our representative will meet you and assist you with your transfer to the hotel. (Standard check-in time is 3:00 pm). Check in at the hotel and catch up on your rest. 
This evening all participants will gather for dinner in the hotel restaurant where you will become acquainted with your fellow travelers, the coming days can be discussed at leisure with your Tour Guide. 

Overnight in Rome

Enjoy your breakfast this morning. Meet your guide and proceed to explore the Colosseum - Palatine Hill with Baroque Rome. This tour will journey through the ancient and Baroque history of Rome. 

Begin with visiting the Colosseum, one of the most iconic landmarks of Rome. The Colosseum is an ancient amphitheater that was used for gladiatorial contests and public spectacles. You will learn about the history of the Colosseum, its construction, and the events that took place here.

Next, you will visit Palatine Hill, which is one of the seven hills of Rome and is considered to be the birthplace of the city. You will explore the ruins of the imperial palaces and hear stories about the emperors who lived here, including Augustus and Tiberius. 

After Palatine Hill, the tour will take you to the heart of Baroque Rome. You will visit some of the most beautiful and iconic Baroque monuments in the city, including the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, and the Piazza Navona. Your guide will provide you with insights into the art, architecture, and history of these monuments. 

Finally, the tour will end at the Pantheon, which is one of the best-preserved ancient Roman buildings in the city. Your guide will tell you about the history and architecture of the Pantheon and its significance in Roman history. 

The rest of the day is free for leisure. 

Overnight in Rome

After enjoying your breakfast, you have the day to yourself. You might consider taking a stroll through Rome's Historic Center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that boasts several famous landmarks, such as the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, and the Spanish Steps. Alternatively, you could browse the local markets, where you can find a variety of goods ranging from food to souvenirs. The Campo de' Fiori market or the Porta Portese market are excellent places to immerse yourself in the local culture.

As Rome is renowned for its cuisine, be sure to sample some traditional Roman dishes from the numerous restaurants and street vendors available. Some popular options include carbonara, cacio e pepe, and pizza bianca.

meet your guide to embark on an enthralling tour of Vatican City and the center of Rome, which will include the Old Jewish Ghetto and the Theatre of Marcellus, featuring an intriguing archaeological site. 

Begin by exploring the Vatican Museums, which hold an impressive collection of Papal art. Admire the Museo Gregoriano Profano, which showcases classical art from Ancient Greece to Imperial Rome, and then visit the renowned Sistine Chapel, famous for Michelangelo's legendary ceiling. See St. Peter's Basilica, the Pope's residence, and marvel at Michelangelo's emotional masterpiece, the 'Pietà.' The tour ends at St. Peter's Square, surrounded by Bernini's impressive double Colonnade. 

Overnight in Rome

After breakfast, we will depart from Rome and travel north towards Florence, known as the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance. On the way, we will pass through the beautiful Tuscany region, famous for its stunning rolling hills, vineyards, olive groves, and charming medieval towns perched on hilltops. As we continue through the Chianti area, we will eventually reach Florence, a captivating city famous for its wealth of Renaissance-era art and architecture. 
Our first stop will be at Piazza Michelangelo, where we can take in a breathtaking panoramic view of the city. We will then head to the historic center to visit the most significant artistic and architectural treasures, including Piazza del Duomo, which is home to the Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral, the Baptistery of San Giovanni, and the Giotto Campanile, all made with priceless colored marbles. Next, we will visit Piazza della Signoria, the city's historical center of civil life, featuring the Fountain of Neptune and the Palazzo della Signoria or Palazzo Vecchio, one of Florence's most recognizable landmarks. The Accademia Gallery, another important museum, will also be visited where visitors can see Michelangelo's world-famous David and other magnificent paintings by Filippino Lippi, Domenico Ghirlandaio, and more. 
At the Accademia Gallery, you will hear secret stories about the artworks and artists featured in the gallery, as well as ancient tales of the powerful Medici family, who were important to Michelangelo and the birth of the Renaissance in Florence. 
The rest of the day is yours to explore, and in the evening, you can dine at any of the wide variety of restaurants in the district, offering Italian and international cuisine.

Overnight in Sorrento

Today is free to explore places on your own in order to get a true sense of where you are.  Explore the Piazza del Duomo, the main square in Florence which is home to some of the city's most famous landmarks, including the Florence Cathedral, the Baptistery, and Giotto's Campanile. Take a stroll around the square and marvel at the stunning architecture, walk along the Ponte Vecchio, a medieval bridge that spans the Arno River and is lined with shops selling jewelry, art, and souvenirs. Take a leisurely stroll across the bridge and enjoy the views of the river and the city,  Sample the local cuisine, Florence is famous for its food, and there are plenty of restaurants and cafes serving delicious Tuscan cuisine. Try some of the city's specialties, such as bistecca alla Fiorentina (Florentine steak), ribollita (a hearty soup), and gelato, or pre-book one of our suggested optional tours

Starting from Florence, this tour takes you on a southbound journey through the picturesque Tuscan countryside, passing by vineyards and reaching the medieval hill town of San Gimignano, known for its remarkable towers and frescoes. You will have some free time to wander around the town's streets on your own before heading to Monteriggioni for a brief visit. The next stop is the delightful village of Chianti, where you will visit a hilltop winery and have the opportunity to taste some excellent local wines along with snacks. Later, you will relish a 3-course Chianti-style lunch. Finally, you will proceed to Siena, where you will explore Renaissance artwork with your guide before embarking on a walking tour. You will marvel at the unique striped marble of the Siena Cathedral and, if you've chosen to upgrade your tour, enter the cathedral for a guided tour. Your tour will culminate with transportation back to Florence..

The beautiful coastal region in Italy called the Cinque Terre, which means "five lands," consists of five unique fishing villages. Meet your guide and board a coach to travel to the coast. The first stop is the oldest village, Riomaggiore, which dates back to the 13th century. The town is famous for its wine and scenic views, with colorful buildings lining the cobbled streets. The second village is Manarola, a small village with medieval remnants and vineyards. Take a walk along the harbor and snap photos of the bright buildings nestled on the cliffs. If the weather is suitable, you will take a boat to Monterosso. If you have opted for lunch, you will enjoy a delicious seafood and pasta meal accompanied by wine and water in one of the village's restaurants. After lunch, you can explore the village or relax on Monterosso's beautiful beaches. Finally, you will visit Vernazza, a village famous for its terraced olive groves that produce some of Italy's finest olive oil. You can wander around the busy square and narrow streets before heading back to Florence.

Overnight in Florence  

After breakfast, we'll head to Venice, stopping by the charming Tuscan town of Pisa along the way. Take a leisurely stroll through the city center and marvel at the prominent structures in Cathedral Plaza (Piazza dei Miracoli). You can discover the Baptistry, Campo Santo, and, of course, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, which is the highlight of the square, along with the Duomo di Pisa, which features Romanesque architecture. Don't forget to take some iconic photos in front of the tower's famously askew shape before exploring the adjacent Duomo.

You will then stop at a Tuscan winery and farm to have lunch and savor regional wines and delicacies.

After lunch, continue your journey toward Venice. Relax and enjoy the breathtaking views as you pass through the fertile plains of Emilia-Romagna, one of Europe's most intensively cultivated regions, and cross the magnificent Apennine Mountains. Pass through the Venetian Lagoon's wetlands before arriving in Venice's canals through a causeway. Upon arrival, check into your accommodation, and then spend the rest of the evening as you, please.

Overnight in Venice

After the demonstration, you'll return to San Marco to begin your guided tour of the island, including a visit to Piazza San Marco, which is the center of Venetian life and has several notable structures like the Clock Tower, the Procuratie Vecchie, the Napoleonic wing, and the Procuratie Nuove. You'll also see the Basilica of San Marco and the Palazzo Ducale, which are the symbolic monuments of the Republic, and explore Rialto Bridge, one of the town's most beautiful bridges and symbols. After the tour, walk back to your hotel and spend the rest of the evening at leisure.
You will have the rest of the day to spend at your leisure. In the evening, you can take a relaxing stroll along the waterfront promenade to watch the sunset over the lagoon or head to one of the trendy rooftop bars offering panoramic views of the city, where you can enjoy a refreshing cocktail.

Overnight in Venice

Today marks the end of your amazing Italian tour. After breakfast this morning, your tour officially concludes. You will be transferred to the airport at the designated time for your return flight.
